Battle of Britain Campaign #2

We've started playing the Battle of Britain Campaign that will come out with the Angels One Six kickstarter.

Looking for revenge, the German Messerschmitt Me 109 fighters escort a pair of Ju 87 Stuka dive bombers intent on attacking the shipping off Dunkirk. Once again, they find themselves too low when they spot a pair of Spitfires heading for the Stukas.

Bandits, angels one six, bearing three four zero, heading west. A pair of Spitfires spot two German bomb-laden Stuka dive bombers heading towards the shipping off Dunkirk. Their escorts, two Me 109 fighters, are down on the deck. Tally Ho!

As the Germans take the first turn, their Me 109 fighters climb hard while the Stuka dive bombers trundle on towards the target.

The first Spitfire bores in on the left-hand Stuka. Eight guns blazing, it scores five hits. But, Sofia manages to save every hit with the rugged Stuka's 4+ save. Lots of bullet holes, but nothing important hit. The mechanics will be annoyed when they get home - lots of patches required!

The wingman in the second Spitfire follows their leader, waiting for an opening.

Rolling for their first Me 109's actions, Sofia manages three successes. Her leader, Yellow 10, has complete situational awareness and can take five actions this turn.

Climbing hard, the Messerschmitts are up to height, ready to join the fray. The Stuka dive bombers forge ahead, getting closer to the beaches. The Spitfires need to get the job done quickly.

The lead Spitfires, strafes the Me 109, choosing to eliminate the bigger threat now and catch the Stuka dive bombers later. His shooting has little effect, and he pulls up in a climb to stay behind the Stukas. His wingman in the other Spitfire got fixated on the target. Holding the Messerschmitt in his sights, he bored in guns blazing, leaving it too late to pull up behind his leader.

And Yellow 13 severely punished that mistake. Breaking hard onto the wingman's tail, he shot him down with a concentrated burst of cannon and machine-gun fire. To add insult to injury, the rear gunner of one of the Stuka dive bombers then shot down the other Spitfire as well.

Victory for the Germans!
